She offers over 50 years experience in the healing arts and truly works on all levels of health: body, mind, and spirit. This interview is a brief introduction to Integrative Medicine. The author, Bonnie Mclean explains, in easy to understand terms, this exciting new frontier in healthcare. Dr. Bonnie was awarded the International Association of Top Professionals IAOTP Top Doctor of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncturist of the Year!It may seem like the Christian world and entertainers of our popular culture are always at odds with each other. As this article from Fox News points out that is not always the case. I am reminded of Romans 8:28 which tells us. And we know that for those who God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. We see here an example of how our secular work and our role as Christians are not as separate as you might think. As I wrote in my article The Three Vital Ministries of the Average Christian years ago every bible believing Christian is called to some form of ministry, not just those of us who pursue ministry in a vocational sense. God grants us gifts of certain talents to enable us to fulfill the ministry he has called us to.

As schools narrow their focus on improving performance on math and reading standardized tests, they have greater difficulty justifying taking students out of the classroom for experiences that are not related to improving those test scores. Schools are either attending fewer field trips or shifting toward field trips to places they know students already enjoy. When testing is over, schools are often inclined to take students on reward field trips to places like amusement parks, bowling alleys, and movie theaters. The nature of culturally enriching field trips is that they are often to places that students dont yet know they might enjoy. In a previous study, we examined the impact of field trips to an art museum. We found significant benefits in the form of knowledge, future cultural consumption, tolerance, historical empathy, and critical thinking for students assigned by lottery to visit Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art see The Educational Value of Field Trips, research, Winter 2014. In the current study, we examine the impact of assigning student groups by lottery to see high quality theater productions of Hamlet or A Christmas Carol. This is the first randomized experiment to discover what students get out of seeing live theater.

Post Anesthesia Care Units PACUs were introduced in the 1930s to address excessive post operative morbidity and mortality rates. The PACU provides an area where patients recovering from anesthesia can be observed intensely and treated appropriately until they return to a stable physiological state. Measurement of vital signs has always been a central task of the nurses providing care in the PACU; abnormal vital signs indicate an unstable patient and the possibility of an adverse event. Over time, both hospital policies on conduct of care in the PACU, including documentation of vital signs, and the technology for measuring vital signs have evolved . Due to their efficacy, opioids remain the first choice therapy for the relief of moderate to acute pain. However, more and more inpatients have one or more risk factors for respiratory depression that justifies clinical surveillance adapted to their condition.
